Nail Clipper Replica
Turning a physical product into a digital twin
Reverse-engineered a nail clipper's compound lever mechanism and documented it via technical drawing
Objective
Commonplace objects often hide clever engineering. The objective was to dissect a standard nail clipper to understand its compound lever mechanism and document it to an engineering drawing standard.
Process
Recreated the assembly in SolidWorks. Generated a technical draft in AutoCAD and produced editorial-grade 'product launch' renders in Blender Cycles.
Key Contributions
- →Reverse engineering of compound lever mechanism
- →3D modelling to replicate ergonomic lever curvature
- →Interference detection validating mechanism clearance
- →Technical drawing produced in AutoCAD
- →Industrial rendering with Blender Cycles
